Dillon Schmidt celebrates his goal. Assists came from Spencer Quinn (26) and Parker James.

Adam Hawkins drove home the game-winning goal 1:52 into overtime to power the Fredonia State hockey team to a 3-2 win over the Eastern Hockey League All Stars in an exhibition game on Friday. Hawkins' goal came on a power play. Fredonia State took a 2-1 late in the third period. Dillon Schmidt scored at the 16:20 mark with assists from Spencer Quinn and Parker James. The Devils then had a power play opportunity when the All Star's Seamus Cummings was called for slashing at 17:32. The man-advantage opportunity did not pan out for the Devils as Ryan Dann scored a short-handed goal with 1:47 remaining in regulation. In the overtime, the All Stars goaltender was called for interference, giving the Devils another power play, setting up Hawkins for the game-winner. The Devils struck first when Baxter Kimball scored midway through the first period. The All Stars A.J. Lakas evened the score in the second period. He connected 1:28 into the frame to make it a 1-1 game. Logan Dyck and Charles-Anthony Barbeau split time in goal for the Devils, with each seeing 15 minutes of action in regulation. Both goalies gave up one score. The All Stars used three different goalies. They were whistled for seven penalties for 14 PIM, and the Devils made three trips to the sin bin totaling six minutes.
